Activity Sheets – Above The Clouds

We are delighted to share new activity sheets to download, created by Scott and Bramley Studio. The project was initiated with GOSH Arts for families at Great Ormond Street Hospital, which The Mead Family Foundation supports, and has now been extended to the wider community. The activities are suitable for all ages, especially 6+.

Based on Scott’s series Above the Clouds, the activity sheets focus on storytelling and journeys through a playful approach to the characteristics and potentials of a photograph. Throughout the activity sheets there are practical references to Scott’s studio processes, for example framing, exhibition making and composing an image. For some of the exercises you will need basic materials such as scissors and pencils, but mainly your imagination.

These activity sheets follow on from creative workshops held by the studio team at Hamiltons Gallery and within the hospital in 2018. The aim then, as now, is to offer children a moment of insight into themselves and act as a tool for inspiration and distraction.

Scott’s series Above the Clouds is a portfolio of images taken from his extensive air travel on regularly scheduled flights over the last several years. During these journeys, Mead has been extremely inspired whilst gazing out of plane windows at the endless horizon, finding that the journey itself can be more meaningful than just a means to a destination. More information and images can be seen on his website scottmeadfineartphotography.com
